A woman filed a lawsuit against a deli firm after she drank sperm from a water bottle she bought at the store, according to court proceedings in Australia.
The Perth woman, who drank bottled water containing semen, is suing the deli owner because the sperm matched his DNA.
Almost three years to the day since the water was purchased, and after filing a complaint, Alice Cooper filed the lawsuit with the District Court of Western Australia, against Dahn Le, the owner of the deli at the time of the purchase.
Le has since sold the business and it is under new ownership.
According to the lawsuit, Le knowingly placed the semen in the bottled water, knew the water was contaminated with semen, had sold or allowed the sale and did not warn the public that the sperm was in the water.
“Instantly, I knew something was not right, I just knew,” Cooper said.
“I thought ‘Oh my God, there’s something wrong with my water,’” she said.
The lawsuit alleges that the company has failed to provide safe systems of inspection or quality control to detect sperm into the water, and failed to provide adequate supervision, induction, instruction or training that could detect the sperm in the water.
Cooper is seeking damages, economic losses, medical expenses, aggravated damages and punitive damages as a result of injuries, symptoms and stress suffered as a result of ingesting the contaminated water.
“I cannot even make decisions about what to eat. It’s really affected me,” she said.
“Who would have thought that something like this could happen? It was so painful. It was so humiliating,” she added.
Cooper said she is suffering from a wide range of physical and psychological conditions such as anxiety, depression, shock, post-traumatic stress disorder and adjustment disorder.
She said that she also suffers from panic attacks and social isolation.
